Learn to focus as you learn to heal
The practice of meditation has been around for thousands of years. References to guided meditation or guided imagery date back to the ancient Greeks. And it’s been long established as a staple in Chinese medicine and American Indian traditions. In fact, most cultures have a form of meditation in their traditional healing practices.
How does guided meditation work?
Guided meditation can either be as an individual or group session. Using verbal prompts you are guided through a scene and asked to notice various aspects of it, to engage the five senses. Typically, your breathing will become slower, your muscles relax and you feel a sense of calmness. As this happens, we can focus our attention on an area of concern and guide you to the desired outcome. This then becomes a true mind-body connection as what the mind can perceive, you can achieve.
